Citrus’ softball team achieved its revenge against Long Beach City College at home on March 27, beating them 3-0.
Having previously lost to Long Beach on Jan. 26, 7-6, Citrus was on a mission.
“We were out for revenge because of what happened during the last game,” Citrus Owl Madelyn Hajj said.

After a RBI double from Citrus Owl Jaelynn Eaves in the first inning, Citrus’ momentum couldn’t be stopped.
An outstanding outfield performance by Citrus right fielder Alivia Martinez had the audience and the players erupt in applause.
“I think energy is super important and that’s what gets the team’s momentum going,” Martinez said. “Without energy, I don’t think the game is fun or that we are going to play good.”
Along with Eaves, Citrus Owl Rylee Praytor recorded a RBI single and RBI double for Citrus.
Coming off their first conference loss of the season against Antelope Valley, the Owls needed a boost in confidence.

“We took a tough loss on Tuesday(March 25) but then today we knew that we had to fight hard and come back and show everybody who Citrus really is,” assistant coach Samantha Meyndert said. “This game meant a lot to the girls.”
The Owls are now 14-13 and continue to move forward.
Citrus will take on Allan Hancock during its next home game at 2:30 p.m. March 28.
“Tomorrow I think we will do the exact same thing and I think we will feed off of today’s energy and come back even stronger,” Meyndert said.
