Citrus women’s basketball finishes the first half of conference with two losses against West LA and Glendale.

After dropping to fourth in the Western State-South with the two losses, they made it back into third with a win against Los Angeles Valley College.

They picked up their second win against LA Valley on Feb. 1 to begin the second round of conference play.

The Owls are 14-8 overall and 5-3 in conference.

The team opened their season with a 61-49 loss to Orange Coast College. However, they regained their footing with a five-game winning streak.

In their Jan. 30 game against Glendale College, who are ranked fifth in the 3C2A, the Owls took the Vaqueros to overtime. The Owls lost 57-55.

Citrus guard Jo Olien, the conferences reigning Most Outstanding Player,  led the team with 12 points.

While the Owls are currently unranked, they have six games left to secure a playoff spot.

The Owls look to retain momentum in their next game against Antelope Valley College at 5 p.m. on Feb. 5, at Citrus College.
