Citrus’ men’s basketball ranks top five in the state

Citrus men’s basketball lands at No. 5 in the 3C2A Men’s Basketball Rankings posted on Jan. 27. 

The Owls have won 14 games in a row. 

After narrowly losing their first game of the season to Mount San Antonio College 72-70, the Owls have made a turnaround going 19-1 since. 

They picked up their second win against Los Angeles Valley College on Feb. 1 to begin the second round of conference play.

The Owls wrapped up the first half of conference on Jan.  29 with a dominant 109-71 win against Glendale College. Citrus guard Blake Ballard scored 21 points

They have stayed atop the Western State Conference -South and scored 100 points in all conference games.

In December 2024, the Owls hosted their annual Citrus College Men’s Basketball Holiday Classic where they picked up two victories against Cero Corso College and Santiago Canyon College. 

The Owls won a triple overtime thriller against Santiago Canyon 134-126 in the final game of the tournament. 

Citrus point guard KJ Perry tied the program scoring record with 48 points. 

The team will play their next game against Antelope Valley College at 7 p.m. on Feb. 5 at Citrus College.
