Citrus will receive about $35 to $40 million of a successful proposition in California authorizing a $10 billion bond.
Proposition two will give $1.5 billion to California Community Colleges.
Citrus is expected to use the money to build a new CTE building on campus.
On the proposition, 60.08% of California voters voted “yes” and 39.92% voted “no.”
The $10 billion will be distributed to community colleges, CTE programs and K-12 public schools for upgrades and repairs. It will also be used to improve health and safety conditions in schools and programs.
The bond will increase state costs by about $500 million a year and take 35 years to repay.
A prior bond of $15 billion failed in 2020.
The full breakdown of how much each community college will receive can be found here.
