The Azusa Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly assaulted and kidnapped a woman from a Citrus College parking lot.
At 6 p.m. Sept. 6, the suspect, 32-year-old Chima Njoku of View Park, who is not affiliated with Citrus, approached the woman’s car while she was driving and asked about the weather, the Azusa Police Department said in a press release.

When they arrived in the APU parking lot off Alosta Avenue, she asked Njoku to get out of the vehicle. He proceeded to physically assault her and then attempted to sexually assault her, the Azusa Police Department said.
After injuring her, Njoku fled on foot but was arrested by the Azusa Police Department in the 300 block of Calera Avenue after attempting to hide under a vehicle, the Azusa Police Department said.
Before he was arrested, he attempted to assault responding officers, Campus Safety said.
Campus Safety’s alert said, Njoku’s charges include:
