Citrus College dominated in a 42-13 home victory against College of the Canyons to win the Western State Bowl on Nov. 25.
The Owls’ defense was on fire, as they forced the Canyons to commit five fumbles and two interceptions, totaling seven turnovers. One of the interceptions was a pick six from Leonard Adams.
Citrus’ Koy Riggin went 15-22 in passes with one of them resulting in a touchdown.
Tayvonne Miller was the Owls’ rushing leader with 123 yards, averaging 8.8 per carry. Miller also finished with two touchdowns for the night.
Owls’ receiver Jesse Carmona led the team with 35 yards, while Julian Walker had 27 yards and a touchdown.
The Canyons’ Emery Floyd delivered a touchdown pass to Noah Staples, while Joshua Clark scored a rushing touchdown.
Citrus College finished the season with a record of 8-3 and multiple Owls were selected to be a part of National Division, Central League honors.
