“Someone threatened to shoot up the school,” said Andres Rodriguez, a Glendora Police Cadet.
Several Glendora police cruisers circled the campus with their lights and sirens on. All campus computers flashed an emergency signal.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s helicopters have been circling the campus for over an hour.

Public Service librarian Sarah Bosler announced the Hayden Memorial Library was closed to anyone entering or leaving at 11:35 a.m. After 10 minutes, students were escorted by library staff to locked rooms. They are still locked inside as of now.

A parent of a Citrus student, Ana Montané-Munoz, waited in the parking lot of Spirit of Life Bible Church for her son. She said her son told her he doesn’t want to come to school anymore.

“I just didn’t think that he’d actually be in a situation where he had to think about it,”  Montané-Munoz said.

A second Citrus Alert phone call sent to campus at 12:10 p.m.
“Citrus college remains on lock-down,” the alert said. “This is not a drill. If you are not on campus, stay away.”
At 1:35 p.m., a third Citrus Alert phone call was sent.
At 1:40 p.m., a bomb squad car was sighted entering in Citrus College.
At 2:35 p.m., a bomb disposal robot was spotted moving through the S1 parking lot.

At 3:53 p.m., Glendora Police Department tweeted that they detained one person, however Citrus is still on lockdown.

Update: A Citrus Alert said the campus lockdown was lifted at 6 p.m.

Police detained a suspect in the Student Services building on Jan. 15. This photo was posted on Facebook Live.

Update: Glendora Police Department released a press release at 6:23 p.m. The suspect, Terrell Lee Bennett, 30, from Chino, had surrendered peacefully and was taken in custody at 3:42 p.m. Bennett was an online student who arrived to Citrus for an in-person class that day.

There was no evidence found of explosive devices being on campus.

Based on Bennett’s statements, suicide-by-cop seemed to be a possible motive, however, Glendora Police Detectives are currently investigating into Bennett’s additional motives.
